About Me

Who I Am

I have spent more than 20 years in education as a special education teacher, behaviorist, mentor teacher, staff trainer, and administrator. Special education for teachers is important and I believe that when educators are trained and supported, students succeed and educators are happy! Student support from teachers is a cornerstone of special education and it can mean the difference between success as a special educator and additional struggles for students.

If I do my job well– everyone wins!

What Makes Me Different

I am extremely unique in that I have spent the past 25 years as a special education teacher, special education administrator, teacher trainer and teacher coach. I have trained thousands of teachers and school teams and I believe that when new teachers receive support through meaningful training as well as directed coaching, they become the rock stars they are meant to be. My experience with special education for teachers allows me to make a stronger connection with educators and support them in a way others are unable to. This leads to higher levels of competency and increased success.

What To Know Before We Start Working Together

Teaching is hard. And being a new teacher is even harder! I truly believe that well-educated, supported NEW teachers become amazing LIFE-LONG teachers.

If you are looking for someone to support you in special education for teachers, be by your side, give you the information you need to be the superhero you are meant to be, and guide you through the ups and downs of being a new teacher,  I am here for you. I look forward to guiding you through your journey. Let me assist you with the best approach to special education to improve and provide positive experiences for your students.

Course Reviews

This course was extremely helpful in supporting my knowledge and understanding of classroom management and managing student behaviors with a positive and caring approach. I took this course at the end of my credential program and it was extremely helpful to me as I prepare to begin student teaching. The modules were very organized, concise and focused. The packet work was a great hands on tool I can refer to when I have my own classroom.

I really found it helpful to analyze the timing of certain student behaviors. Not just triggers but questioning why the behaviors occur at certain times of the day and what is happening at these times. Of course, it is always helpful to brainstorm replacement behaviors and have those in my wheelhouse.

This course is great for first year teachers. It pulled the curtain back on things I was unsure about and gave me confidence.
